From Groans to Glory — Romans 8
This week, we’ll be studying Romans 8:14-27 and focusing on the Holy Spirit’s role in the believer’s life. Justin and Evan discuss how the Spirit indwells Christians, guides and sanctifies them, and assures them they are adopted sons and daughters who can cry, “Abba, Father,” as heirs with Christ. They explain how present suffering and even creation’s “groaning” point to a future redemption and glorification that believers hope for with patience. The episode also highlights that in weakness and wordless pain, the Spirit intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. Finally, they connect this hope to Romans 8:28, emphasizing that God works all things for good according to His purpose, not our definition of good.
