So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
John 20:21
The Bible is clear about our responsibility to be a disciple of Christ and His witness. In the New Testament the term witness means being a verbal witness, one person telling another the Good News of the Gospel. The good news of salvation which we have received, we are to pass on to others and equip them to pass it on as well.
You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.
2 Timothy 2:1-2
What does FAITH Outreach look like?
The F.A.I.T.H. Outreach program takes place each year during the fall and spring semesters. It is an 8 week commitment that can have an eternal impact. Each week on Sunday evenings, we will meet at the church for classroom training.
The Teaching Time is designed to prepare our members to:
After the class session, we will visit prospects for our Small Groups. The Team Leader will present the gospel to those who need and express interest in hearing while Team Members watch and listen to what we call the F.A.I.T.H. Visit Outline. We also make ministry visits to our Small Group members as the need arises. This Visitation Time, which can span multiple individual visits, is usually about an hour.
Following these visits we return to the church for Celebration Time, a special time as teams report the results of their visits. During this time we share stories of lives changed and needs met.
Home Study Assignments are done weekly, at your own time and pace, and supplement what has been learned in the classroom and from visits. This personal time will help you journal your experience and focus on ways God is helping you in your own journey of faith and sharing your faith with others.
