Philadelphia is 150!
"As we celebrate 150 years of ministry as a church, you will find a common theme - OUR GOD IS FAITHFUL! I've often tried to imagine what it must have been like in 1872 when a small group of pioneer Christians in the piney woods of central Louisiana met for the very first time, sensing God's call to start a church. Most likely inspired by Jesus' letter to the church at Philadelphia in Revelation 3:7-13, they called the new church "Philadelphia Baptist Church." Could they even have imagined that the gospel seeds of faith they were sowing would still be producing a harvest a century and a half later? So, here we are today... with the same mission, the same omnipotent God as the head of His church, and His same sufficient Word to lead us! Now, the torch of faith is in our hands, and may God help us to continue to run the race until Jesus returns!"

Our Anniversary Celebration
On Sunday, June 26th, we held our 150th Anniversary Celebration. The festivities began on our Deville Campus with a single service at 10:00 am. We had an extraordinary time of worship led by our choir and orchestra featuring a heart-felt solo by Dr. Fred Guilbert, an endearing word from Rev. Stacy Morgan, and a challenging message from Dr. Terry Faulkenbury. The Worship Service was followed by a delicious meal and a wonderful time of fellowship. Throughout the church, there were engaging historical "Walk of Faith" displays demonstrating the faithfulness of God.
The Philadelphia Story
Available for purchase later this year!
As part of our Anniversary Celebration, we have a team of volunteers who are in the process of writing a historical record of the faithfulness of God through 150 years of ministry.

Fireworks & Fellowship
We continued our 150th Anniversary Celebration on the evening of June 26th as the Deville and Horseshoe Drive campuses combined for a family fellowship and fireworks!
We had a wonderful time of celebration as our two locations joined together for outdoor family games, inflatables, a photo booth, and fireworks! The historical "Walk of Faith" display was appreciated by all as our extended family at Horseshoe Drive was able to see the beginnings of Philadelphia Baptist Church.
We all enjoyed hot dogs, chips and drinks, and an amazing fireworks display.

A Sincere "Thank You"
We would like to thank all the volunteers and staff members at both campuses who contributed their time and talents to help make this celebration special.
"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen." Ephesians 3:20

God is Faithful!
The theme of our 150th Anniversary has been "God Is Faithful!"
This celebration has given us the opportunity to look back and remember all the things God has brought us through, look around at all that God is doing, and look forward to all God has in store for us.
We had such a fantastic time, we want to share it with you!
